How to Trust and Believe when life is Difficult.

During the summer of 2009 my husband a Dean for CPS received his first pink slip!  Little did I know it would be the first of many.  Now I was unaware that they frequently laid people off for budgetary reasons or not having enough students in the building. I was a Biology Teacher in a Catholic High School and it was unheard of someone being laid off, most people didn't retire until they were at least 85 years old.  When we received this pink slip over the summer I immediately started worrying about how everything was going to get accomplished on one salary.  All I could think about was bills, bills, bills, how on earth are we going to pay these bills.  My husband on the other hand wasn’t worried at all he knew that our Father would provide because it says so in His Word. We leaned on the verse from Proverbs 3:5-6 which states

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

During the summer we started trusting more that the Lord would handle our situation and that is exactly what He did!!! Before it was time to go back to school the Principal at my husband's school called and said he had a job for him but he would have to take a $20,000 pay cut. My husband took that job making less money and worked just as hard as when he was making more, helped fellow co-workers learn the technology needed to do their jobs effectively, and mentored young adults and all for less money. At the end of the year the Lord blessed  him with a promotion to an administrative position and an increase in salary. We trusted and believed that the Lord would be faithful to us and He was.

Now today, in 2017, we are still trusting and believing Him with our online store and with our mobile app and website business. We decided that a perfect reminder of the importance of trusting and believing in the Lord was to create  a pillow that simply stated trust and believe. When we look at our pillow we always remember the ways in which the Lord has been faithful to us and made straight our paths when we trusted Him alone to meet our every need.
